Darkroom Book Cover Revealed! First Draft (Take the Opinion Poll!)
Well, I finally got a look at the initial cover for my upcoming release DARKROOM. Simon & Schuster/Howard Books has revealed this early concept cover to me. Intriguing cover. I would make to take a look at the book description.
Looks great. If anything, the shutter could maybe use a few less leaves or petals (can’t remember the word for them) so it resembles a camera’s shutter a bit more closely, but that is all I’d change. It really is a striking cover
To be honest, it’s a bit dull. Looks like something a self-publisher knocked up in an afternoon. How about a picture? An action shot or something mysterious happening in a darkroom. Seen through a camera lens?
But maybe this sort of simple cover is the sort of thing that sells. What does your editor think?
I don’t know. My editor didn’t comment on the cover designer’s work. But last I heard, they are working up another cover even now. 🙂
