The Suspense is Killing Me!

Because it’s the middle of the week, and because people can’t help but love cats on the internet, I wanted to pose the question to you as a reader (or movie buff):

What is suspenseful to you?

For me, it’s the foreknowledge of something significant (good or bad), but not knowing exactly what, who, or when.

Good News Suspense:
“And the winner is….”

Bad News Suspense:
“The lab results are back, and…”

Scary Suspense:
Psycho with an ax is hiding somewhere in the house. Character walks into the house…

Tense suspense:
Bob has put up with enough abuse from his supervisor for years and has finally decided he’s had enough! He marches into supervisor’s office….

What are some of your favorite suspenseful situations? Please share in the comments section below.
