Ever read something that you’ve read many times before in the past, then suddenly have a new meaning leap out at you?

That happened to me last week as I came across a passage in the Gospel of Matthew, the words of Christ:

“Your eye is the lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is bad, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!”

The Holiday Spirit – Meh?

Hakuna Matata, Dude!

Tossing and turning at night, troubled by that one issue that you have no way of knowing, no way to control, and no absolute certainty of the outcome?

Through the years, I’ve had plenty of things to worry about. There were months of unemployment, wondering if we’d be able to pay the rent, keep the lights on, life -threatening family health issues, sudden deaths of friends and loved ones, etc. Lean times, scary times with which I’m sure many can relate. It was stressing the heck out of me and I could easily lose sleep over it. After all, what else could I do but my best?

A Template for Living to the Utmost

Many of you know through various interviews and blog posts that I start every day the same way: Prayer and drinking in wisdom and inspiration from The The Bible. With all the things going on around the launch of my new book DARKROOM, I felt it especially important to re-center myself in the red-letter portion of the Bible, that is to say, the words of Christ. Today’s reading led me to the Gospel of John and I found some inspiring verses which really spoke to me.
